Alegre Resort, Cebu

Located 2 hours from Cebu City, Alegre Beach Resort is definitely the perfect place to relax and unwind. I would say one of the more exclusive resorts I have ever been to, Alegre is fully equipped with amenities such as a Tennis Court, a swimming pool, a game room and many more.

Finally! After 2 hours of travelling through the streets of Cebu Island, we arrived at Alegre Beach Resort!
View from the lobby of Alegre, themed with a Filipino/ Hawaiian Theme, we were welcomed with a welcome drink which from what I remember right was four seasons?
Our room is very spacious, complete with the essentials such as Coffee Maker, Refrigerator, Cable TV and many more. Usual stuff that you see on other hotels. One comment though, they have cable TV which only as about 13 channels? What is up with that? not much choice.. baddddd! for me at least.

This for sure is one of the BIGGEST bathrooms I have ever been to. It is larger than my room which i think is approximately 15 sqm.. Guests have their own bath tub and a separate shower, closet with an in-room safe and cool slippers !
We had buffet on ALL our meals. I repeat, ALL our meals. I feel like a pig eating with no hesitation. Food was great since they cater to almost all types of food from Filipino food to Indian Food to American Food. One can never stay thin in this resort, you are bound for fatness! :)
The view of their beach, water was clear and they allow fish feeding so when they provide you with bread, fish will easily come to you. We also tried their Jetski and Kayak which made me really dark.. a little pricey but all worth it!
This is the view of their pool.

That about covers everything you can do in Alegre. One downside though, they allow day trippers into their resort which makes the resort less exclusive. Day trippers can enter with a fee of Php 1,500.00 per head inclusive of food, but from what i heard, they can only stay until 5pm.

Bottom line, if your looking for a relaxing trip with no distractions, I'd highly recommend this place. They have wi-fi on their dining area and no sun signal anywhere on the resort, what a perfect escape! :)

Till my next post!

Palawan for a day!

Palawan for a day sure is very tiring! Had to go there for work, good thing I was able to relax later that day with some friends.

Anyway, I am writing for the hotel accommodation that I stayed in called Hotel Fleuris. It's not as extravagant as 4 or 5 star hotels. I'd say its probably a  solid 3 star hotel.

Rooms are very spacious considering the rate for the room which is if I recall right, Php 2,700.00. The bed is a king size bed, bathrooms are clean but a little short on space, TV  has cable, refrigerators and a couch :) (website seems to be not working well though)

What I like most about this hotel is the friendly environment, hotels like Centro Hotel and Legend Hotel does not have a very friendly and accommodating staff, when i inquired there last year, they weren't really too happy that I was there... Anyway, Hotel Fleuris is a good hotel to stay at when you're looking for a hotel in the heart of Puerto Princesa. They have a swimming pool, a business center and a cafe for people who just love to relax and have a break.

There rooms are not as good as the other hotels around, but their level of service definitely makes up for it. Palawan promises tourists with more hotels to be built in the near future. We will all be looking forward to other hotels which will be more affordable, which will have better rooms and will have the same level of service which Hotel Fleuris' provides.

Chris Sports Epic Relay 2011!

I've been looking forward to this run since the start of the year. My friend told me about the epic run almost a year ago and about how exciting and how cool it is to run in the streets of Subic especially at night time.

This time around, I won't let that pass, me and my frisbee teammates have formed a group of 10 (5 boys and 5 girls) to join this year's Epic Relay. I am looking forward to our training especially on conditioning and strengthening as i lack on both these categories.

I have trained rigorously once before when I was part of the De La Salle University Badminton Team. I remember running 5 kilometers on my first ever Animo Run and getting a time of around 20 - 21 minutes which from what I heard was not bad. Having a mindset that I once was able to get into that kind of shape makes me more confident that I can do the Epic Run, that WE can finish Epic Run especially my teammates who are all athletic in nature.

I am off to that running shop in The Fort to buy me some running gear starting with running shoes. Hopefully I can buy an Adidas shoes which is best suited for my running form. Especially because all Adidas shoes have the word "Adi" on them. From those of you who do not know me personally, my nickname is Adi so having a shoe with the word "Adi" on it is cool for me :p

After getting my shoes, I can then start training and start running around Corinthian Gardens for some serious conditioning! (For now, I'm just using my old badminton shoes)

I am definitely looking forward to June11, 2011! Till my next post!

Bird flies to Singapore!

My first post!! here goes:

In what has been one of my most memorable trips in my life, Singapore did not disappoint! Thanks to AirPhilExpress, my friends and I were able to get a cheap fare, giving us more money to spend for shopping!

We stayed at the Value Hotel Thomson along Thomson road. Rooms are normal (since you're only going stay there for a short period of time), considering that their bathroom is super small and that there are no windows inside the rooms. The cable connection sucks like hell and their channel line-up is not very friendly to tourists. But in fairness to them, their beds are great :)

We went to Universal Studios Singapore! Who doesn't?!
This is the FIRST TIME I rode a roller coaster.. I will NOT do this again :)

The highlight of our trip is the shopping part!! Prices of goods in Singapore are pretty much similar to prices here in Manila. One common misconception is that the gadgets in Singapore are cheaper. This is not true. I bought a lot of clothes though, especially in Orchard Road where there are so many malls that are all connected underground (How cool is that?!)

Shopping bags!!! My backpack is full of stuff I bought as well..

Bottomline: Even though the amount of money that i spent was soaring high, it was all worth it.. Singapore is a great country, kudos to their public transportation and cleanliness.

I will definitely go back there given the chance.
